Four features set the War Hawk apart from other Nighthawk pistols. The vigorously coarse front and rear slide serrations allow for faultless slide manipulation with hands that are covered in gloves, blood, or sweat. A red fiber optic front sight allows for extreme front sight recognition in the bright or dim and dusty fog of battle. To allow for single-handed slide manipulation, during injury or while your dragging a brother in battle to safety, the War Hawk is fitted with a ledged Jardine sight. And, finally, the uniquely tapered tri-top slide utilized on War Hawks adds an element of engineering marvel and unseen class to the 1911 platform. It also reduces overall weight and slide mass. You have three versions of the War Hawk to choose from. The Government is your standard five-inch 1911 and might be the best option for IDPA or practical competition. The Compact, with its Heine Tritium sights and integral mag well is a designed for concealed carry. And finally, with its accessory rail the Recon might be the ultimate battle pistol. In conjunction with the design of the full-size War Hawk® Recon and War Hawk® Government, we developed a carry gun built to Nighthawk's exacting standards, the War Hawk® Compact. This model has many of the same features as the full-size model. The slide has the same unique multi-faceted slide top and top serrations that come to an arrow point as the full-size model. The Compact model also incorporates the EVERLAST™ Recoil System that allows shooters to go over 10,000 rounds without a recoil spring change. This model is the first model to include our brand new, fully machined Officer size, one piece mainspring housing /magwell. This model comes standard with Heinie Slant Pro night rear sight and a Tritium front sight as well as a solid aluminum match-grade trigger. The War Hawk Compact is not only a beautiful gun, but a great choice for a daily carry weapon.
